Shame,Shame, Ron Price has done it again. Son, if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything. Why didn't you vote? Yeah or Nay that's all it took. Stand up ! What a total embarrassment this school board and the top administrators have been to this city. Hinojosa came in, the school board gave him complete control along with the micro managing of the Dallas Achieves. We have not heard one word from them nor our Mayor. Will anyone stand up for the teachers besides Carla Ranger and Lew Blackburn? School Board members why didn't you ask the questions that would let the public know what's truly going on? City of Dallas , students of DISD, Teachers, you are the stakeholders. You trusted these individuals to take care of you and they were negligent in their responsibilities. In April 2008 it was reported by Mr. Korbes the DISD was financially solid and had a 100 million surplus. It was a trick to get voters to vote for the BOND. You have been suckered and should stand up and demand an investigation. The AUDIT Report can be found on line re Dallas Morning News. The report is for the 2007- 2008 school year presented late this past June 2008.The entire report should be made public and investigated. The board should have explained to someone why there was a $20,000,000 overdraft and in addition , answer the teachers as to whether the 7 million has been paid to the Teacher Retirement System and if not give a public explanation as to why payment had not been made and had to be requested.Sure Eric Anderson has been released , but it should have happened long before Sept. Mr. Hinojosa you knew long before Sept. as well. TEA needs to come in and clean house. The Reading Department is inefficient - Ms. Collier only directs the administrators and teachers in the reading of articles . They can do this in their own time. Ms. Olson in Human Resource should have been questioned about conferring with the Budget department before the overhiring of the surplus of teachers. Why the Teach for America Program and you're trying to RIF teachers???? Also the District is accepting online applications - WHY? Go to Jobs on the Districts Web page Teachers / maybe you need to apply for the positions that have been RIFed. It doesn't make sense. The page should read - NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS at this time. More attention Mr. Jack Lowe should have been given to the reports and research on whether the compensation and buget are related. You had no clue in the June 26, 2008 board meeting as to the relationship between the two. I was so embarassed for the teachers this morning in Church Service as the Pastor prayed for them. This criminal act by these high paid arrogant administrators and the volunteer board members, who truly have no vested interest should be removed from their incompetent service.
